Senior Front-End Engineer

As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and testing of our unique web based data exploration tool Zegami (see zegami.com).

Zegami leverages the latest technology and tools to visualise tens of thousands of images within a single field of view. If you have an interest in data, especially data visualisation then this position will give you a unique opportunity to hone your skills and apply your creativity.

You will be required to work in a cross functional, geographically dispersed team reporting directly to the CTO.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Developing Zegami – a bowser based JavaScript application and its associated applications
  • Working with both the UI and backend visualisation framework
  • Developing unit tests
  • Taking UI mockups and designs and converting them to JS and CSS.
  • Contributing to the overall design process.
  • Work closely with the whole team, communicating effectively regarding progress and delays
  • Inform team members of emerging technologies and techniques that may be applicable
  • Produce effort estimates to aid in the sales process

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 5 years building robust JavaScript applications – not just jQuery
  • Working with a team of developers in a senior role, which includes mentoring other members of the team in best practices.
  • Hands on experience with React and good understanding of Flux architecture pattern
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with building large, maintainable JavaScript applications.
  • Experience with testing frameworks and agile methodologies.
  • Strong documentation skills, this includes in-code commenting and producing user and other technical documentation
  • Familiar with build tools like Webpack/Grunt/Gulp
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodology

Desirable Skills

  • Node.js
  • Familiar with WebGL
  • Familiar with source control, specifically Git and feature branch workflow
Graduate Python Engineer

We are looking for a dedicated and talented Python Developer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for building out the back-end infrastructure for our unique web based, visualisation and analytics tool Zegami (see zegami.com).

Zegami leverages the latest technology and tools to visualise tens of thousands of images at once. If you have an interest in data, and especially data visualisation then this position will give you a unique opportunity to hone your skills and apply your creativity.

You will be required to work in a cross functional, geographically dispersed team reporting directly to the CTO.

  • Implementing the overall server side architecture as well as developing customer specific enhancements.
  • Development of internal tools and installation scripts
  • Developing unit tests
  • Work closely with the team and communicate effectively, especially with communicating progress and delays
  • Inform team members of emerging technologies and techniques that may be applicable

Skills & Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science or 1 year’s industry experience.
  • Hands on Python development experience
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Passion for data and visualisation
  • Familiar testing frameworks and agile methodologies.
  • Web frameworks like Flask or Django
  • Experience with working on Open Source projects
  • Familiar with Git
Administration Assistant (Part Time)

We are currently looking for a part time PA/Administration/Finance assistant to work with the CEO of Zegami limited to help with administrative tasks (See zegami.com).

You will be a dynamic and adaptable person willing to help support and drive a new oxford start technology company, the role will initially be on a part time or casual basis however as the organisation grows it is anticipated that the role will also grow into a full time position. You will have a good understanding of basic business finance and managing the receipts, payments, payruns etc

Roles and responsibilities

  • Working with the CEO and senior management team to assist them with basic administrative tasks.
  • Monthly Payroll and expense reconciliation
  • production of board reports
  • Work closely with the team and communicate effectively, especially with communicating progress and delays

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience as a PA or Administrative assistant within a small to medium enterprise.
  • great communication and organisational skills
  • Take pride in your work and appearance to always present a professional demeanour
  • have strong Microsoft office suit skills with Word, Excel and desktop publishing
  • Working with the CEO to establish a good culture within the organisation

Desirable Skills

  • Great interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A desire to help people get jobs done
